Students entering the Jr. High system will have Mrs. Gustafson for 7th Grade Math. The expectations for this class consist of, but are not limited to, mature behavior, punctuality, bringing required materials to class, completion of daily work assignments, both in and out of the classroom, cooperation with their classmates and respect of their person, property, and space. This will be a stimulating class and parents can expect their students to bring home their workbook to do individual practice most every night. They will be expected to keep track of their assignments as well as begin to learn how to take notes during class. The Illustrative Math curriculum is used in this class and students will be issued their own workbooks which they are allowed and expected to write in. Their notes and practice will be done in this workbook. As of the 2021-2022 school year we will be using a standards referenced grading system that uses the 0-4 scale. The Illustrative Math curriculum has free online access and the kids will have this link posted in their Canvas math class. Canvas and Powerschool are used at the Junior/Senior High School and students will be expected to use both of these. Parents may also set up their own Canvas accounts to "follow" their student(s).
