•Encourage your child to practice his/her basic addition and subtraction facts each day. There are many games like Countdown and Shut The Box that can make practicing fun. •Have your child sort loose change by like coins. After sorting them, have your child tell you the names of the coins in each pile. •Spend a few minutes counting by 2s, 5s, and 10s. Students need to be able to do this starting at any given number. For instance, start at 4 and count by tens (4, 14, 24, 34, etc.) •Take a few minutes to point out what time it is throughout the day. Encourage your child to tell you the time. |
