Next Wednesday, March 12, is Spring Photo Day for ALL students, Preschool through Grade 8. This is OPTIONAL for all families.
What do you need to do?
Return the photo form either to the homeroom teacher or with your child
by Wednesday, choosing a background.
DO NOT send Money!
· If you prefer that your student/s photo not be taken just send a note to the homeroom teacher.
In a few weeks a complete photo package will be sent home – you may choose to purchase all or part of the package and must return the rest with a check if you keep any photos.
It is an out of uniform day for all students.
8th graders must bring their blue graduation gown for the group graduation photo (boys must wear a collared shirt and tie - some students must wear dress shoes – they know who they are) but they may change after that photo. They also have the option of having a Spring Photo taken.
IOWA TESTING IS COMING!
Please note that testing will begin the week of March 17 and end March 26. Do not schedule doctor appointments, vacations, etc. during those dates for students in grades 2 through 7. Do not bring your student in late as the class will not be disturbed during testing time for those arriving late.
WHAT ARE YOU DOING THIS SUNDAY MORNING?
It’s time to ‘Spring Ahead’ and move your clocks ahead one hour!
We welcome the following new students to our school: Vincent B (grade 2), Jenah F (grade 7) and Celine F (grade 5). We are so happy you have joined our school family!
Library News for March
I was very happy. I had found the corner that spring was just around. Frog and Toad All Year by Arnold Lobel
Just like Frog and Toad I will be very happy to find that corner! It has been a long winter, and spring will be so welcomed. So while the days are still a wee bit chilly and glum, take advantage of the time to stay inside and read.
There is much to celebrate during this month of March-St. Patrick’s Day, National Music Month, National Women’s History Month, American Red Cross Month, National Craft Month, and Youth Art Month. Speaking of art, have you seen the beautiful art work of our students displayed in the cafeteria and in the hallways? Wow!
Many authors celebrate birthdays as well during this month. March 2nd was Dr. Seuss’s birthday. Who doesn’t love Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham, and Oh, The Places You’ll Go! Check out the Library webpage to get the complete list of gifted writers who have brought so much joy to so many children over the years.
The IHM Book Club will meet on Tuesday, March 18th in the Library at 3:00 p.m., so please mark your calendars.
Thank you to all who have donated books or videos during the past several months. All the materials will certainly be used, and your generosity is greatly appreciated.
There will be more news to report from our library in the coming weeks, so please stay tuned.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
Mrs. Karen Sanders
Spring Musical The Rockin’ Tale of Snow White
Rehearsals began Tuesday, March 4.
SAVE YOUR POP TABS!
Student Council will be collecting them after Easter!
Reasons to Rave
Welcome to the “Reasons to Rave” box!
It will appear in the Newsletter and will mention wonderful things about our school.
Repeat these things to your friends and neighbors!
We have a reason to be proud of our students, parents, staff and school!
We have a great team of moms who will help us with events throughout the year. If you would like to join us please send us an email. Every second Thursday of each month students will have an opportunity to place orders and shop for Spirit Shop items in the cafeteria during lunch from 11-12:30 p.m.. All items listed on the order form (pencils, school magnets, flashlight key chains, lanyards and much more) will be available. We will also be selling (and taking orders) for the popular necklaces as seen at the PTO "Make It, Bake It, Take It" last year. Remember Spirit Shop clothing is not part of the official school uniform. (Exception is black/white and black/blue socks.) These items can be worn with the school uniform bottom on all Spirit Days and everywhere you go to show your Crusader Pride!
Students may be out of uniform on April 9 and May 14 if they bring in: K-4: canned good for Heart to Heart 5-8: dollar in cash for Catholic Social Services
