"Never throughout history has a man who lived a life of ease left a name worth remembering."
 - Theodore Roosevelt, 26th President of the United States of America

Hello! My name is Chatham Hedges, and I will be working as the 7th Grade United States History teacher for the coming school year. I currently hold a Bachelors degree from the University of Northwestern, Saint Paul and a 5-12 Minnesota teaching license. I have wanted to be a teacher ever since I myself was in seventh grade and I greatly enjoy working with every age group, from 2 year-olds to college students.

I was born in Alberta, Canada —a place even colder and farther north than Minnesota—but my family immigrated to the northern suburbs of Chicago, Illinois when I was quite young. Besides the classroom experience I have had with students in the middle schools and high schools of the Twin Cities metro area, I have also (among other things) led youth groups, coached Elementary boys basketball, and tutored college students. When not working with kids, I enjoy playing and writing music, reading books, and talking with friends.

My mission this year is not only to teach the history of America, but also to build meaningful relationships with the children of this school. Your child’s education, safety, and sense of belonging are of the greatest importance to me and I do not take my responsibilities lightly.

Please do not hesitate to stop in, call, or email me if you have time as I would welcome the opportunity to get to know you along with your child. Your input is always welcome and appreciated.

Sincerely,

Chatham Hedges
