Homeroom Announcements

Hello Students and Parents,

I am super excited to get our 6th grade school year started!  For those of you who just registered or who would like to learn more about me, please check out my bio on my webpage.  Also, feel free to take a look at my back to school letter below.

Here are just a few things you will need to know about the first week:

School Supplies:
You will keep all of your school supplies either in your backpack, locker, or at home.  I will also provide our homeroom with a small cubby in the classroom which you are free to use.  The only supplies that we will pool or use as community are the following:
  • 5 of your pencils
  • copy paper
  • tissues
  • chlorox wipes
If you want to drop off the above items in my classroom on Wednesday morning before first period, you are welcome to- that way you don't have to carry them around, or you can just bring them in during 3rd period ELA (our first class together).

**In addition to the supplies list, you will also need an independent reading book every day which you can bring from home or get from the library.  You are also welcome to keep that in your cubby.

I am going to ask that each student try to bring in at least 2-5 magazines to use for an art project that we will be completing the first week.  They will not be returned and must be middle school appropriate.  Please bring these in on Wednesday (the 1st day of school) as well.

I will be using a text message based communication service this year.  It is free and doesn't share your cell phone number.  Text is a great way to get a hold of me for quick questions.  Please sign up using the link below:  https://www.remind.com/join/83k722

Other than that, I will see your child on Wednesday morning, 3rd period for ELA and then after lunch for homeroom.  I am happy to answer any questions or concerns that you may have, and I look forward to an amazing school year!

Thank you for your support and enjoy your last few weeks with your families.

Powerschool- If you do not have a log in for Power School yet, please call Janne at the high school and she will get you set up 463.4324. You can monitor your child's grades at anytime by logging in to PowerSchool. This is a great way to keep up on missing assignments.

Scholastic: Our class code for www.scholastic.com/home/ is NCRPW for ordering books.

From the lunch room:  Parents are able to create accounts throughwww.mymealtime.com to view and/or pay on students lunch accounts. Parents will need their student's lunch number to view their history and current balance.  If they or their students do not know this number have them contact the kitchen.  When making payments on-line there is a 4.9% processing fee.
