About Me

Dear families,

I can't even tell you how delighted I am to be joining the third and fourth grade team at IACS. I know it is going to be an amazing year.

I am Lindsey Corey, and I recently moved back to Idaho after a spending the past three years in Portland, Oregon. I've missed this community and was incredibly excited to hear about Idaho Arts Charter's expansion, and the teaching opportunity that presented. All signs were pointing me back here. I taught in the Nampa School District for six years before moving away, and another year in Oregon. I've taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade, and I am looking forward to sharing my passion for language arts with my students this year.

I received my Bachelor of Arts in Exercise Science from Willamette University in 2004, and went back to Willamette for my Master of Arts in Teaching in 2006. I believe in the necessity of arts in education, and the value of creativity, individuality, and analytical thinking. I support and shape classroom culture to be a place of safety, respect, and empathy, and help my students reach, and take risks, and discover how very much they are capable of.

Outside of school, I love being outdoors- running, camping, hiking, skiing, climbing, or just quietly appreciating someplace beautiful.  I read a lot, and love to write. I enjoy cooking, a little bit of gardening, and being able to travel to visit family and friends, and to explore new places in the world makes my heart full. I have a passion for photography, and that has created some great adventures for me- working in Boston, and most recently in Nicaragua.
At home I have a big, sweet dog named Kenya. She's a Rhodesian Ridgeback/Boxer mix. I adopted her from the Canyon County shelter 6 years ago, and I love her dearly.

Again, I look forward to getting to know each of you, and building our classroom family.

~Ms. Corey
