Digitization of records at the Company Registry of the State Law office was completed in May, 2010. The project, supported by the Kenya ICT Board was finished ahead of schedule and saw over 20 million pages scanned and stored. Records from 1936 to date were scanned and the data captured to allow for online search of company names and information.

DPH, the company that won the tender to digitize company registry records, hired 215 staff who worked 24 hours scanning 450,000 pages a day. The Company Registry hopes to have the whole registration process online by 2011.

Teams of two scan each document in a file. The scanned pages show up on a monitor for review.
Each team's performance is monitored, the most productive teams are shown on the manager's monitor
Documents are prepared by a team working day and night at the Company Registry
Scanned files are double and triple checked for accuracy by a separate team that also works 24hrs.
