Thank you for visiting my website!  I began teaching at Hardyston in 2004 as a 1st grade teacher.  Two years later, I moved to 2nd grade.  Two years later I found my home in BSI.  This year I am teaching Physical Education for the first time to the entire 1st grade.
I grew up on Long Island and moved to NJ in 1997.  I have 2 daughters and live in town.  My oldest is in fifth grade and my youngest is in second! I am very lucky to work in such a wonderful place with such talented people.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me!

Please remember the days your child has PE class so they come prepared.  The schedule is below.
*  Students should be wearing sneakers! (please work on your child being able to tie their own shoes!)
*  Students can bring water bottles! (We do get drinks at the end of class)
*  Students should wear clothes they can participate in!

Miss Bonney has PE classes on Mondays and Thursday
Mrs. Hall has PE classes on Tuesday and Friday
Mrs. Kretschmer has PE classes on Wednesday and Friday
Mrs. Romahn has PE classes on Thursday and Friday

This school year we have been working on many skills such as dodging, fleeing, chasing and teamwork.  We have worked on kicking and trapping skills as well as volleyball basics.  We have reinforced these through several games like M & M, Blob Tag and Balloon Tag!  The students have been wonderful to work with and are doing very well with their listening, teamwork and comprehension skills!  I will continue reinforcing these throughout the year in PE class.
We are currently working on gymnastics skills.  We will soon begin preparation for field day later in the year!

Basic Skills Instruction (BSI):

I work with students in 1, 2, 4th grades in Language Arts this year.  We are currently working on reading fluency, comprehension and finding the answers to questions within the text we read.  These are all valuable skills to be used in any subject or grade.

I work with students in 1st, 2nd, 3rd grades in Math this year.  We reinforce skills learned in the classroom with an emphasis in understanding the process of finding solutions.

For both I work hand in hand with the classroom teachers for planning purposes.

If you fail, never give up because F.A.I.L. means

“First Attempt In Learning”

End is not the end.  In fact, E.N.D. means “Effort Never Dies”

If you get No as an answer, remember N.O. means “Next Opportunity”
