An important part of the HPS Orchestra Program is to provide an opportunity for the MS and HS students to take part in trips. These trips allow the students to perform in different locations, interact with the other students and chaperons, as well as create memories that can last their entire lives. We regularly offer two different trips to the students that are based on the grade level of the students.
For the MS students, they have an opportunity to take part in a one day trip to Six Flags Over Great America. As part of this event, the students perform in an adjudicated session and are ranked with the other string orchestras performing that day. After the performance, the students have the rest of the day to experience Six Flags Over Great America. For more information, please visit the MS Cedar Point Trip page.
For the HS students, they have an opportunity to take part in a multi-day trip that takes the students to other states. Because these trips are more expensive and require a much greater amount of planning, we only provide this opportunity once every 3 to 4 years. This ensures that every student has the opportunity to take part in one of these trips at least once during their high school careers. For more information, please visit the
HS Trip page.
For all of these trips, the students can use the credit that they have earned from fund-raisers towards paying for their expenses. Please visit the fund-raiser pages for more information about how you can earn and use this credit.
