My name is Nathan Evans, and I was born and raised in this beautiful town of Santa Barbara. In fact, as a child I went to Monte Vista Elementary School, where I had two of the best teachers of my life--my dad, Mr. Evans and Mrs. Bender.  I moved on to La Colina Junior High, and then attended both San Marcos and Santa Barbara High Schools (GO DONS!)  Afterwards, I went to UCSB, where I majored in Cultural Anthropology and Spanish.  Following graduation, I moved to Mexico to become fluent in Spanish.  I lived in Puerto Vallarta for 5 years, teaching in and then directing the English Department for The University of Guadalajara.  My educational journey continued at Azusa Pacific University, where I completed a Master's Degree in Teaching and (nearly finished) a second degree in Administration. As a lifelong learner, my next step will be obtaining a Doctorate someday. For now? I love to travel! My favorite activities here in town include fishing, island hopping, surfing, riding my moto, swimming, hiking and playing with my dog Reef and my new adorable dog named Pearl. I have been teaching since 1995 and am experienced with grades 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6. It has been an amazing experience working with the children of such a wonderful community, and there is no place I'd rather be than here at Vieja Valley, inspiring our kids and making school fun!
