PTA

Greetings, Mustangs! As the newly elected PTA President, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the 2015-2016 school year. I look forward to making this a wonderful year for the families and students at Monte Vista.  This year, the Monte Vista PTA has two main goals:

1.    Promote the education, health, safety and well-being of our children. In order to achieve this goal, we are asking each family to participate in this year’s Pride campaign. The Pride campaign directly funds your children’s extracurricular programs – such as Arts, Music, and Physical Education – and helps offset costs associated with the Library, Science, Computers, Guidance Counseling, Cultural Arts and other important programs. While the suggested donation amount per student is $360 – we ask that every family contribute what they can afford. Our fundraising goal for the Pride campaign this year is $45,000 so every dollar counts! And don’t forget to ask your employer if they offer a matching program.

2.   Increase family engagement. The first thing you can do is to become a PTA member. Membership is only $8 per person per year. The second way to get involved is to participate in the fun events and programs we have planned throughout the year. Your participation might be that of a committee member, volunteer, or merely as an attendee. Whatever level of participation you select, your time and involvement will certainly be appreciated.

I invite you to stay informed of our upcoming events as well as the goings-on of our school by reading the announcements on ParentSquare and attending PTA meetings. Our PTA meetings are held on the third Tuesday of most months at 7 - 8 p.m.

I look forward to seeing you at school!
