SENIOR DINNER PICTURES
Last Friday night, the Seniors were honored at the 6th Annual Senior Banquet. Each Senior had a speech given about them from a staff member and $50,000 of scholarship money was given out. Congratulations to the 2017 Graduating Class! Click here to view the 2017 Senior Dinner Pictures.

COIN DRIVE for the 2017 DR MISSION TRIP - One Week Only
The Coin Drive for the senior Mission Trip to the Dominican Republic next year starts on Monday, 5/22.  It will run for one week. It is a Lower School vs. Upper School competition with the winner getting an out-of-uniform day on Tuesday, May 30th.

SPINNING FIDGETS IN CLASS
Because there are no proven attention benefits to fidget spinners (see this article and many others) we are no longer allowing students to use them in Upper School classes. They have become more of a distraction to students than a help. If you child has a legitimate reason for a non-spinning fidget, there are some other non-distracting options.

6th GRADE MISSION TRIP INFO NIGHT - If you missed it.
The 6th Grade Mission Trip info night was last Thursday, May 18th. During the first week of Summer Session (June 12-15), the 6th grade students participate in local Minneapolis mission trip. Students will stay overnight at Hope Academy Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday night and will go and serve at various places in the neighborhood during the day. The cost of the Mission Trip is $25. Monday, May 29, 2017 is Memorial Day.  There is no school on that day.

CLASS OF 2017 GRADUATION!
Congratulations to the Class of 2017! The commencement ceremony is free and open to the public.  It will be held in the gym at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 3rd. 



HOPE ACADEMY CONSTRUCTION PICTURES
If you didn't already know, Hope Academy is under construction. During last week's Staff Professional Development Day, staff members got a tour of the new construction happening in the building. 7th & 8th GRADE COVENANT CLASSES - 1 MONDAY LEFT
The last Middle School Covenant Classes with Mr. & Mrs. Wald will take place during Bible classes on Mondays. ACORNS TO OAKS CEREMONY
Thursday, June 1st at 3:00 p.m. will be Hope Academy's "Acorns to Oaks" Ceremony. It will be a combination of the Kindergarten and Senior Graduation for all students in grades K-12 to attend. The Official Graduation for Seniors will take place Saturday, June 3rd at 6:00 p.m.


8th GRADE BREAKFAST & VALLEY FAIR
The 8th Grade Breakfast will take place on Thursday, June 1st from 8:00 to 9:30 am in the Hope Academy Chapel. 8th Graders will go to Valley Fair after this breakfast.

HOPE ACADEMY - END OF THE YEAR PICNIC
The Hope Academy Family Picnic will be held on Sunday, June 11th at 4:00 p.m. at Peavey Park next to Hope Academy.  Please bring something to share (Last name A-I = Salad, J-R = Dessert, S-Z = Chips).

GRADUATING SENIORS: Student Accounts and Transcripts Reminder
A reminder that is is the policy of Hope Academy that all student accounts must be paid in full before official records, grade reports or transcripts are released. This means that parents of graduating seniors must have all tuition and fees paid before transcripts will be released. Please contact Lisa CasaDeCalvo or Tennille Ziegler with questions.

11 THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT 2017 SUMMER SESSION
1. Times: 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Doors open at 8:20.
2. Dates: June 12-15, 19-22, 26-30, July 5-7.
3. Required for students completing K-8th grade and some High School students.
4. Some students will be required to attend from 12:30-2:30 for extra Math/Reading Support.
5. ACT Prep Classes for 10th and 11th Grade - Mondays and Thursdays from 12:30-2:30 p.m.
6. HopeWORKS internships with small stipends for some 9th/10th/11th grade.
7. Summer School shirts, khaki shorts, and tennis shoes are required.
8. 6th Grade Local Mission Trip is the 1st Week (June 12-15). Leave Monday morning, get back Thursday at lunch.

IMPORTANT SUMMER SCHOOL ATTENDANCE POLICIES
If you are going to be absent for any Summer Session days, it is important to read the Summer Session Attendance Policies. Doors open at 8:20 am. Summer School starts at 8:30 am each day. If you are late, you must make up that time by staying twice the minutes late in the afternoon. Click here for the: Summer Session Attendance Policies

FREE SPORTS PHYSICALS THIS SUMMER
All students participating in Minnesota State High School sports next year (typically our 7th-12th grade sports) must have a current physical on file at Hope Academy.
