Welcome to the HGHS Counselor's site. My name is Chris Weaver and I am the counselor for Honey Grove High School.  I have been employed by HGISD for 17 years, serving as the high school counselor for the past nine.    
    I have a master's degree in School Counseling from Southeastern Oklahoma State University and a BA in Literature/Education from The University of Texas of the Permian Basin.

  • College Visits Juniors and Seniors need to plan to take advantage of the two days our school allows them each year to make prospective college campus visits. Remember, these visits need to be only to campuses that you are considering attending upon high school graduation. Tips for these visits:Make an appointment with an advisor at the college you plan to visit. If you can, choose two or three departments in which you might be interested and visit with all of these advisors - but remember, MAKE AN APPOINTMENT.Take with you a list of questions you would like answered to help you decide which college and possible degree plan best fits you.Bring back signed documentation from your campus visits so your ...

  • Paris Junior College Scholarship Now Online! You can visit our scholarship page for a direct link to the general scholarship application for Paris Junior College. If you have previously completed and mailed a paper form - please submit this one. PJC is no longer accepting the paper forms. Hurry and complete - the deadline is April 15th.

  • HGHS Financial Aid Night Honey Grove High School hosts an annual Financial Aid Night with the help of Paris Junior College directors, Linda Slawson and Sheila Reece each February. The first portion of the meeting is an explanation of the financial aid process. The last portion consists of an actual workshop where you can complete the FAFSA online for your graduating senior. Parents, please prepare and file your taxes as early as possible after January 1st each year. Financial aid through FAFSA is first come-first serve. Feel free to contact me with questions regarding this process. I will mail/email you with specific dates and times in January. You may always research this process by visiting www.fafsa.ed.gov.
