*I respond to family and community concerns, primarily through e-mail. I communicate frequently with PTA and parents of students in my course through email. Behavior and performance concerns are easily addressed by working with the parents at home, which leads to less problems during class time.
*I also get information home by using Blackboard and the school's website. On the first day, parents receive a syllabus with contact information on it, as well as information about SPAN access. I have also set up a Twitter and Facebook account to communicate with the larger community for the school.
