February is "Heart Month" for all P.E. and Health classes.  Pre-K through 5th will be jumping rope for their hearts.

The 4th and 5th grades will also be doing a P.E. Challenge, trying to pass 6 different tasks.  An example would be jumping rope for 90 seconds without stopping, or throwing a ball to a partner across the gym without missing 15 times in a row.  At the end of the unit, they will receive a certificate.

Grades 6-8 will do health units.  Sixth grade will focus on eating healthy and  the food pyramid, while seventh and eighth grades will focus on the effects of drugs and alcohol.

African American History is America's History and the 6th grade Social Studies class are doing a unit on the underground railroad by making underground railroad quilts.  Students used various materials to bring different patterns to life on paper, creating a map and telling a story of how African Americans escaped to FREEDOM! They will be displayed in Room 134 until Spring Break.

Courage Doesn't Always Roar.  Sometimes Courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, " I WILL TRY AGAIN TOMORROW'''
