Moving Through May!

At Holy Family School, we are moving full speed ahead through the very busy month of May! In our classrooms, students are wrapping up units, completing performance assessments and putting matters in place so they can do their very best on age and grade appropriate end of year tests and assessments. Our student are bringing their best every day. Big THANKS for your home support.

The rain last week catapulted field day ahead to Monday May 20th - if it is a rainy day again, we will move activities inside…a best option of not too many good choices! We hope, weather permitting, that the close of the Field Day will also include the traditional 8th grade water balloon throw…not to be missed!!!

Field Day is set for Monday May 20th - this is a great morning of activity set for the Aston Fields across from our school. All students should have had permission slips completed on line. Mr. Herlihy has an outstanding event planned. The Home and School Association will provide backbone support making sure all students have a great time! Come and enjoy the fun!

**Gym uniforms on Field Day - teachers will assigning shirt color/type (gym or spirit stroll) to divide each class into two teams.

Yearbook Order…a $15 dollar lifetime memory!

You can still order a yearbook –  Use this link to order your copy of the 2018-2019 Yearbook.

Sponsors are still needed for our 2019-2020 Assignment Book...

Looking for sponsors for the Family Envelopes & Assignment Books for next year.  If you have a business or know of one that would like to advertise on these we are looking for sponsors.

Book Fair...Our Book Fair will be held May 21st - 23rd.

Beginning on Monday our annual Book Fair will be taking place in the lower church hall. Mrs. Connor and volunteers have a great plan and tons of books. All students will visit and purchase as desired. Please read the letter for more details.   . You can visit our Book Fair Homepage by clicking this link  to set up an EWallet or to shop online prior to the Fair. **We plan to have the Book Fair Open on Wednesday evening from 5-7pm in addition to the school hours, which will allow those of you attending the Band Concert (see next article) to attend!

Spring Band Concert…

I hope everyone is planning to attend the Spring Band Concert. It will start promptly at 7pm in Degnan Hall. Mr. Miller promises that all band students will be participating and playing their best!

I am so happy for this event as I have watched (and listened) to over 50 students improve over the year. I know the concert will be a great benchmark for the hard practice and work students have done over the year!

See you on May 22nd at 7pm!

Bridge Foundation Event

On Thursday, May 16th at 9:15 AM in Degnan Hall area politicians,  business leaders and representatives from other area schools will join the Bridge Foundation for an awards presentation. The foundation works with local businesses to help support our scholarship efforts.

We look forward to hosting this important event. Our Student Council, Art Club and may more students will help us make it a great program and presentation.

Safe Tech Use Program - Time Change!

On May 21st thanks to HSA all students will hear a presentation by a national expert on internet safe use. We think this topic is very timely and important. Included in this program is an opportunity for parents to hear information about this important topic. The parent presentation time has changed - please note and plan to come...

Holy Family First in Math Success...it is what our Students Do!

Across our school, classes participate in regular First in Math challenges and problems. As a school, we know that as students practice and participate in this state and nationwide online challenge; it solidifies student math skills and builds interest.

The school has done an outstanding job and we have out-performed all previous years. Not only have we out-performed our standard in both our school and the Archdiocese; we have also earned 4th in the nation!

Our school level top performing class is the 6th grade! Congratulations Ms. Young and the 6th grade - they earn a class wide pizza party.

The following top five scoring students will be representing Holy Family at an Archdiocesan award ceremony on May 24th:

2019 Annual Appeal

As of May 3rd, the Annual Appeal has raised $8,471. This is 56% of our $15,000 goal. We are very thankful for all the school families, faculty, staff, the board and parishioners for their support of Holy Family. Remember: It is not too late to donate, the appeal runs through June 30th. Our goal is 100% Participation.

Please take a moment and review the attached Annual Appeal request. The challenge of providing an outstanding Catholic Education is ongoing. The Annual Appeal allows for funds to flow to targeted areas and to provide need improvements. The goal for 100% participation is lofty, but our community has a history of responding in an outstanding manner.
