Wearing of Green & Spirit Stroll

The school should be all a buzz on Friday when everyone can dress down in green and enjoy the early celebration of St. Patrick’s Day. The minimum donation of $ 1.00 — to wear green! — will be helping us build on the tradition of giving and service to other organizations. The Sisters of Charity Food Bank is our intended donation recipient!  I know this school community will be “green and happy” on Friday!

Also on Friday....
Our Spirit Stroll will officially get “strolling”. Watch for the important donation and pledge information being sent home though OptionC  and the family folders — it is really important that we have everyone’s help. The assembly will be a fun way to begin this “charge” for the April 26th event — check with your student to see what is new this year about the Spirit Stroll!

7th grade Visitation Day: Wednesday, March 20th

On Wednesday, March 20th all 7th graders are encouraged to visit one of the areas Archdiocese Catholic High Schools. The attachment is information on how to attend Cardinal O’Hara.  You will need to visit the link provided to register.  It is the families responsibility to get your child there and home. If a student wants to visit another AOP High School they simply contact that school (all schools will be greeting 7th graders that day).

If a seventh grader is electing  not to visit one of the AOP Highs Schools, they should plan on attending school that day. Failure to attend school or a visitation is considered a school absence.
We do encourage everyone to visit one of the schools.

Praying, Giving, Fasting: Lent 2019

Our Lenten journey is moving forward. Our school is participating the Stations of the Cross on Thursday as well as a school penance service on Monday, March 18th.

Our community will continue to keep up a prayerful Lenten focus.

Terra Nova Test On the Horizon

The important standardized test call Terra Nova will be front and center on March 22nd - 29th, 2019. All students in grades 3-7 will be participating in the testing. All testing  will be done during the morning time over those days.

Please make every effort to limit outside appointments to  insure 100% attendance.

Each classroom has been doing great prep work and we are confident students will be in a great place to “show” their best learning!

End of 2nd Trimester

Heads up to all families that the 2nd trimester of grading is wrapping up later next week. Please keep up your careful monitoring of your child’s work and assignments - they all count toward outstanding grades.

2019 Annual Appeal

Please take a moment and review the attached Annual Appeal request. The challenge of providing an outstanding Catholic Education is ongoing. The Annual Appeal allows for funds to flow to targeted areas and to provide need improvements. The goal for 100% participation is lofty, but our community has a history of responding in an outstanding manner.
