The 85th Academy Awards, now called the Oscars was held on a Sunday night in Los Angeles, California. Seth MacFarlene hosted the show, along with musical songs and dance numbers. For the first time ever since 2006, 6 movie awards went to 6 different movies. Best Animated Feature Film nominees went to the movies: Frankenweenie, Paranorman, The Pirates! Band of Misfits, Brave, and Wreck It Ralph. America voted and the award for Best Animated Film went to the Pixar Drama, Brave. The Animated Short Film went to Pixar's, Paper Man. One of the biggest moments was when First Lady Michelle Obama suprised the audience by presenting the award for Best Picture. Another big moment was when a little girl named Quienzhane, age 9, was the youngest actress ever to be nominated. Overall, the Oscars were fun, exciting, and all nominees and winners deserved to be nominated.
