Do kids need their own cellphones?

Study shows 56% parents of children ages of 8 to 12 have their own cellphones and 13% of children ages 6 to 10 have their own cellphones. The majority of people feel that the "real age" to get a cellphone is 12 years old. Some parents teach kids to be responsible for their phones. The disadvantage of having a cellphone is when you text a lot and call your friends are such of waste of time than to go out and have fun, and your concentration of homework is going to lead into distractions of constantly using your cellphone. The advantage of not having a cellphone may not cause distractions of doing your homework, and you get to have a lot of fun when you go out.
