Queen Elizabeth II celebrates 60 years as monarch.

By the time Queen Elizabeth II's Father King George VI died unexpectedly died
on February 26, 1952 Elizabeth was immediately proclaimed the Queen. Elizabeth's coronation occurred a year later.  She was only 26 years old. The powers of Queen Elizabeth II are limited by the law. Still, the Queen serves as a living symbol of her nation and represents it around the world. Now she is 86 and celebrated 60 years of being Queen.They celebrated with parades, concerts and fun events. 

Class Question:  Does Queen Elizabeth the II have as much power as did Queen Elizabeth I had?  Why or Why not?
