Faculty of Humanities (FH) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) is launching the first PolyU Language and Culture Exploration (PLACE) Camp 2017 from 18 to 21 July 2017.

The PLACE Camp presents a unique opportunity for secondary/high school students to experience university life at the PolyU’s Faculty of Humanities. Based on the two undergraduate programmes of the Faculty, namely BA(Hons) in Chinese and Bilingual Studies and BA(Hons) in English Studies for the Professions, PLACE offers students a variety of fun and practical activities and lectures that enhance their knowledge and competence in language, culture and communication. Students will know what it is like being a FH student, and have plenty of opportunities to learn useful hands-on skills and knowledge about language and culture from our FH distinguished teachers in a real university environment. The camp will have about 100 participants coming from different secondary/high schools in Hong Kong and other parts of the world. Participants will not only be able to unlock their language potential, but also interact with students from reputed local and overseas schools.

Admission to PLACE is free. Participants will be provided with meals and accommodation at the student dormitory during the activity period and be given an attendance certificate upon completion. All other costs are to be borne by the participants, including air fare. For details, please refer to the activity schedule and information on the website www.polyu.edu.hk/fh/PLACE

The students are expected to be in Secondary 5 or 4, or Grade 12, 11 or 10 in the academic year 2016/17 or the equivalent, and who are interested in exploring the study of language and culture.
