Balanced Forces Particle Model (BFM)
  • BFM.3(A) I draw properly labeled system schemas and free body diagrams that show all forces acting on an object.
    • I can identify surrounding objects interacting with an object, and the forces they exert on the object.
    • I know when two surfaces must be experiencing a friction interaction.
    • I can determine the direction of the net force based on the object’s motion.
    •  I can use N1L to qualitatively relate balanced/unbalanced forces to an object’s constant/changing motion.
  • Forces Resources: Reading #1, Reading #2
Make-Up Procedure:
  • BFM.1 & BFM.2
    • 1. Correct any answers you missed on the quiz and be prepared to explain your reasoning. Quiz & Solutions are available here. (your corrected Quiz is your entry ticket to the make-up)
    • 2. Study questions similar to what you missed.
    • 3. Come prepared to a make-up session and correctly answer questions similar to the ones you missed.
    • 4. In order to gain access to the quiz retake, you need to show your corrected quiz and the vector worksheet (complete and correct).
    • See course calendar for make-up times. These are limited.
  • BFM.3
    • Correct any answers you missed on the quiz and be prepared to explain your reasoning.
    • Study your system schemas and free body diagrams.
    • Come prepared to a quiz make-up session and correctly answer questions similar to the ones you missed.
    • In order to gain access to the quiz retake, you need to show your corrected quiz and the two BFM worksheets ("BFM - Worksheet" and "BFM - Worksheet 2" worksheet (complete and correct).
    • See course calendar for make-up times. These are limited.
