Welcome

Hello.  My name is Trina Barnette and I work in the library at Hico Secondary School. I started working for Hico ISD in August of 2003 and this is my 15th year of employment for the greatest school ever!
I was born and raised in Hico and I graduated from HHS in 1980.  I attended Tarleton State University for 2 semesters, then moved to Ft. Worth and worked for the Tarrant County District Attorney's Office for 4 years.  I worked for Dr. A. G. McDowell's office for 1 1/2 years while attending TCJC.
I married Bobby Barnette in 1986 and we have two sons.  Justin was born in 1987 and went to live with Jesus in 2012 and Jeremy was born in 1990 and works full time at Texstar Ford in Stephenville. Jeremy recently got married to our new daughter in law, Kaley and she is such a wonderful addition to our family.  I have a step-daughter, Melody who is married to Brad and have our grandchildren, Brandon who is 25 and Kayla who is 21.  I have a daughter-in-law, Keshia, who was married to Justin, and two grandsons, Brayden is 9 and Brantley is 5 and both attend Three Way ISD.

The greatest accomplishment of my life is that I got to be a stay at home mom for 14 years and raise my boys and teach them about Jesus and be a room mother and volunteer at their schools.
I am a big Texas Rangers fan and love to go to as many games as I can.  Baseball, Basketball and track are my favorite sports.  I love to watch the Summer Olympics every 4 years, watch baseball (all levels) on television or in person and I have been the bookkeeper for our Hico High Basketball teams for 10 years.
Fall and Spring are my favorite seasons.  Fall because I love all of the colors of the trees and the crispness in the air.  Spring because everything has a new start, the hummingbirds come and the flowers start to bloom.
I love to cook and sew when I have time.  I like to do crafts and I also love to read!  Several of us started a "Book Club" a couple of years ago and I have read a lot of books that I ordinarily would not even pick up and I have enjoyed different genres and getting to discuss the books and hear other perspectives.
Operation Christmas Child is a ministry that is near and dear to my heart and I love being part of it every year.  This ministry is part of the Samaritan's Purse ministry and sends shoe boxes filled with love and gifts all around the world.  I believe that each one of those shoe boxes touches the person packing it and the person receiving it in ways that we will never know.
I love my job and my school.  I am so fortunate to work with so many wonderful people and I am so proud of all of our Hico Tigers!
