The HES Student Council wanted to do something nice for our younger students, who normally would be taking field trips to the pumpkin patch or corn maze this time of year. But, as with many things, COVID-19 has prevented them from taking these trips and enjoying this fall experience. So, we decided to bring the pumpkin patch to the school! We ordered 200 field trip pumpkins from Laurel's Pumpkin Farm and were so excited to recreate the pumpkin patch experience here on school grounds, until a tropical storm brought the rain in. So, we improvised and lined the K-4 hallway with pumpkins for students in Kindergarten through 4th grade to enjoy and take home, despite the rainy day! Our goal for Student Council this year is to try to bring some normalcy back into our student experience. To support one another and build each other up.
