The GCR-1 Alumni Association announces 2 new dual credit grants to be awarded December, 2017.  Sally Susan Jeter Smith visiting friends in Hermann last fall learned about the dual credit program at Hermann High School from Alumni Board member Bob Kirchhofer.  Sally decided she wanted to assist students and endowed two grants in memory of her parents, Dr. & Mrs. W.A. Jeter.  Dr. Jeter was a long time physician in Hermann.  Sally said when she graduated from HHS in 1959 and went to college, she was worried she wouldn’t be able to compete with students from bigger schools. However, she soon realized she could compete and excel because she had gotten an excellent education at this small school.  Sally states:  “It seemed like the teachers truly cared that I got a good education”.

The Alumni Association’s mission is to assist students in furthering their education and training.  The Association has 501c3 status with the Community Foundation of the Hermann Area, an affiliate of the Community Foundation of the Ozarks.
