Welcome to the SPMS Counseling Site!

We are honored to have the privilege of working with the students of SPMS, the School with Pride and Heart!  As School Counselors, our primary role is to help students learn and develop to their highest potential, socio-emotionally, academically and with a quest toward their future goals.  There are so many situations that can interfere with a student’s learning process; therefore we are here to help students work through those issues.  We are trained to provide students with early interventions as well as preventative strategies so that “ALL” students benefit.  Our curriculum is developed in order to reach students in three primary ways; school counseling core curriculum lessons, small group counseling, and individual counseling.  We also take part in consultation with parents, teachers and administrators in order to be supportive and nurturing advocates for these children.  School Counseling is a proactive and developmental program for students, designed to assist students in developing a positive self-concept, and to help students achieve academic, career, personal and social success. Our goal is to create an environment, which fosters Puma P.R.I.D.E.—positivity, respect, integrity, discipline, excellence.

We are looking forward to supporting your child’s success in school!  We can be reached at (804) 264-0837 during regular school hours.
