Switching Caps Lock and Ctrl keys

For the those unrepetant Emacs users and others who like having their Ctrl key next to the 'A' key, and are running a Microsoft OS, there is software available from Microsoft to allow you to swap these keys.
  • For those using Windows 9x, you can download the Kernel Toys package and use the Keyboard Remap utility to switch them.
  • For those using Windows NT, Gordon Chaffee has packaged a set of files and some instructions that will provide the same feature for Windows NT 4.0.
