Established in Spring 2007, College for Me is a college exploration and preparation program for Helix Juniors. Through this program students participate in a series of workshops, receiving in depth information about:
* What colleges are looking for
* Differences between the University of California, California State University and Private University systems
* Financial Aid
* SAT and ACT testing
Students will also create a portfolio of information to help them as they prepare to submit college applications in the Fall of their Senior year, which may also be used for scholarship purposes.
Students are invited to participate at the end of Quarter One in their Junior year. Requirements for invitation, include:
* 3.0 minimum GPA
* On-track with "a-g" requirements
As the culmination of the program students participate in a six-day trip over Spring Break visiting thirteen universities throughout California. During the trip students meet with Helix graduates now attending the universities, take tours, receive admissions presentations and experience the campus setting.
