Treat that child with respect.

You may already know about my story in the grocery store... asking the mother yelling at her little boy: "Please treat that child with respect."

Well here is part 2 - We were at Disney's Ft. Wilderness Campsite enjoying perfect weather and the peace of the woods when we became increasingly aware of how hard the parents across the street were being on their kids. I was OK with it (since I knew I had trained my self to say something if it got out of control) but Tamara's commitment to Innocence kicked in and every sharp word dug into her. I encouraged her to say something (since she was the one more affected). After an hour or so we decided to go over together. I approached the father, "Hi, I'm Greg and this is my wife Tamara. We can see how much you love your kids and how committed you are to their safety but we've been listening for a few hours (at this point the mother walked closer to hear) and are asking for you both to be a more kind to them." Tamara added, "I was a social worker for 11 years and have seen the impact of long term harsh language, so please treat your children with kindness."
We love our lives... who we get to be... and 15 minutes later we were at Epcot Center headed for the Paris Bakery.
