Learning Skills

Learning skills play a very important role in a child's learning. There are six learning skills that are focused on throughout the year to help each student be successful in their learning, while enjoying their experiences inside and outside of the classroom.

The following are the six learning skills that we focus on, along with what each skill means to us as a class:

Responsibility:

  • Finish your work on time

  • Bring homework and notes back on time

  • Complete your work to the very best of your ability (double check it!)

Organization:

  • Be prepared for each class

  • Keep your work and your workspace clean and tidy

  • Use your agenda daily

Independent Work:

  • Work quietly and independently

  • Try my best and work hard

  • Listen attentively and follow instructions (ask 3 before me)

Collaboration:

  • Work together and appreciate each other (put ups)

  • Be fair, kind and respectful

  • Share with each other

  • Listen to each other’s ideas
