Dear Students & Parents,
The Maple Grove Library Learning Commons (LLC) has some exciting opportunities in store for you this year! Please stop by to see how our Library has transformed into our Library Learning Commons! You will find our space looking and operating a bit differently this year. You will still find our amazing collection of books and flexible seating options, however, you will also find that we now have designated areas of our space designed to encourage students to embrace their innovation skills. Our students will be introduced to coding with a variety of leveled robots and coding programs; Apps and equipment (e.g., green screen) that are designed for video creation and editing; and equipment and tools (e.g., Lego, K'Nex, MakeDo) that will allow students to discover their engineering side!
Of course, we will continue to add to our book collection and will be focusing on diversifying our library resources to meet the needs of our school population. Lessons on Digital Citizenship and research skills will also be a focus as we continue to develop our inquiry skills. Of course, we have our Book Fair scheduled for the fall and we are planning other various promotions, activities, and extra-curriculars that students of all ages are encouraged to take part in and become involved in the Maple Grove community.
If you would like to volunteer to help in the LLC, please let me know. We'd love to have you!
