BUSINESS LEADERSHIP: MANAGEMENT FUNDAMENTALS

Course Description
This course focuses on the development of leadership skills used in managing a successful business. Students will analyze the role of a leader in business, with a focus on decision-making, management of group dynamics, workplace stress and conflict, motivation of employees, and planning. Effective business communication skills, ethics, and social responsibility are also emphasized.

What do we do?
Students will identify and learn about important characteristics of leaders and managers, while discussing current topics of concern for managers in the 21st century. We will also conduct a social responsibility audit for an industry, highlighting ethical issues and identifying methods that businesses use to act in a socially responsible manner. Throughout the course, students will be challenged to take on leadership opportunities both inside and outside of class, while learning about group dynamics, motivation, and teamwork.

Major Task
Students will have the opportunity to apply leadership skills to events running throughout the school.
