Grade 11 Instrumental Music              

This course provides senior students with opportunities to further develop their musical literacy through composing, listening, analyzing, and performing music . Students will apply the creative process when performing repertoire and will employ the critical analysis processes when reflecting on performances. Students will investigate the function of music in society and the impact of music on individuals and communities. They will also explore how to apply skills developed in music to their life and careers.

The Artistry of Fundamentals and Harmonized Rhythms for Concert Band will be our main method books. Concert band repertoire and small ensemble music will vary per class according to skill level of performers. You will be performing a short solo for your Performance task to show off the skills you have acquired over the semester.

Musicians are encouraged to bring their personal instruments and reeds.


Concert Performances: December and May.  Join one of the many co curricular ensembles available!
