  • NHS Formal Induction Date Announced
    The National Honor Society's 2017-2018 Formal Induction will be held on Monday, October 23, 2017 at 7:00pm in the High School Auditorium.

  • NHS Meeting
    The first NHS Meeting will be held on September 11th at 7:30am in the HS Media Center.  

    All regular scheduled meeting will happen on the 2nd Monday of the month at 7:30am in the MC.

  • Old & New Members Meeting 10-18-2016
    There will be a meeting for both old and new NHS members on Tuesday, October 18th at 7:30 a.m. in Mrs. Schnack's room (room 113).
    New inductees will be asked to write a 1 minute speech honoring someone who has had a positive influence on their life in the areas of service, character, or leadership. These speeches must be printed and given to Mrs. Schnack or Mrs. Lansman by Thursday, Oct. 20.  They cannot be longer than 1 minute.
     Both old and new members must bring a pan of bars or batch of cookies to the induction ceremony on Monday, Oct. 24th. The induction ceremony requires formal attire. Both old and new members should meet in the HS library at 6:30. 
    New inductees must fill out the certificate under the "Forms" tab on the NHS website by Wednesday, Oct. 19.
    All members are expected to stay after the ceremony to help clean up.

  • Informational Meeting 2016
    There will be a meeting on Tuesday, September 20th during middle lunch mod for all students interested in joining National Honor Society. Applications will be handed out during this meeting and are due to Mrs. Schnack or Mrs. Lansmans  by Tuesday, September 27th at 4:00. 

    Requirements for students applying are: 
    Must have a 3.0 or greater GPA.
    Must have completed one semester at HCHS.
    Must be a Jr or Sr.

Service Opportunities

  • Individual Service Project
    Each member shall have the responsibility for choosing and participating in a service project, which reflects his or her particular talents and interests.  

    This is in addition to the chapter project to which all members contribute.  

    This project must be a minimum of four hours.
