Welcome to Mrs. ROgers' Class !
All About Me

Hello, My name is Mrs. Megan Rogers.  I am delighted to have your child as part of my class this year.  There is so much to learn as we prepare your child to be college and career ready.  Their future starts now as they build their foundational skills that will last them a life time. To this endeavor I bring 3 years of teaching experience, all of these years solely working with kindergarteners. This is my second year at Sandy Grove. I moved to North North Carolina from Colorado one year ago. I hope to inspire your child to be a life long learner and bring fun and creative lessons from my years of experience to you children as we share this year together.

At School ...
Our goal is to guide our students to become independent life-long learners with the skills necessary to succeed in school for the rest of their school-career. Students will develop a strong foundation in early reading and writing skills. This foundation begins with alphabet recognition and sight word identification but extends far beyond those skills and into blending and segmenting words, the application of comprehension strategies, and much more! Students will also learn to become independent writers by learning to combine their
understanding of letters and sounds and the writing process to generate ideas and write complete sentences. Students will also develop a strong foundation in number sense and counting strategies in Kindergarten. They will learn to problem solve and use strategies to solve simple addition and subtraction word problems.
