Box Tops for Education

McLauchlin is collecting Box Tops in order to earn money for our school.  Please cut out, save, and send Box Tops into the school regularly.  Teachers will be keeping track of how many Box Tops their class earns.  There will be monthly prizes for the class that brings in the most Box Tops.  All money earned from the Box Tops will be used to buy classroom materials.

Message from the Principal

Children are amazing little people! They have hopes and big dreams! It is my sincere desire that every child who attends J. W. McLauchlin learns to think—think about their present and their future. That they learn to process information and solve problems—that they learn to persevere and not limit themselves. While they may come from a small town in rural North Carolina, I want them to leave our doors believing they have a special set of talents they can use to impact the world in a unique and special way! I want them to understand that hard work pays off and that attitude sometimes matters more than anything! I want them to experience the joy of accomplishment and be hungry for it daily!

It is my desire that this new school year brings tremendous growth for all of us—for me, our teachers, and our students. I learn something new from our teachers and children every single day, and I am so honored to have the opportunity to do so.

As we move into our 1:1 technology focus, I am excited about the great new opportunity this affords all of us as we learn together! I know our students and teachers will exceed expectations!

Our growth has been outstanding! We have been blessed beyond measure! I believe we will continue to be blessed because we know that only together can we be successful. Parents, students, teachers and administrators working at McLauchlin have brought us great results—I know it will continue.

Every morning, the last thing I say in our announcements is, “And remember, at McLauchlin Elementary School, you are loved, and you are appreciated!” It is my desire that these are not empty words, but are proven out in everything we do!

This is going to be a great year! Come, be a part of it!

Children First,

Laurie Ashley, Principal
