The Hoover City Schools Engaged Learning Facilitator (ELF) is a lead teacher in the grade level or curriculum area that inspires and models the integration of technology to promote digital transformation. The group of school facilitators collaborate with the district Technology Integration Coaches in providing ongoing and relevant professional development for teachers and staff. As early adopters, the ELFs look for ways share and model best practices at any opportunity.This voluntary role connects teachers from across the district that are creative, innovative, and engaging.

  • ELF Camp: This one day event is held each summer and is focused on connected curriculum and ISTE standards to emerging technologies.
  • One-on-One Support: The ELFs receive one-on-one coaching and support from the Technology Integration Coach.
  • ELF Swap/Meet Up: Several times a year the ELI team organizes an afternoon for the ELFs to meet up and swap ideas and showcase what has worked in the classroom.
  • ELF Network: The ELFs have an online space to network, share lessons, and connect with each other.
