Welcome to Mr. Howse's Science Class (page)!

4th Quarter Projects (due June 8th):

RUBRICS ARE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE

If you have another idea for a project or want to work with more people than allowed, contact me. You will need to explain the project, the additional work you will do to justify another person, the rubric, etc. and I will review your proposal.

Atom Model Project and Rubric (up to 2 people, one more person add a research piece)
Build a 3D model of an atom (for 3 people complete a small research project about it)

Compound Model Project and Rubric (up to 2 people, I don't have a rubric for this, you’ll need to make one)
Build a 3D model of a compound (60 points) and complete a small research project about it (40 points)

Periodic Table of Atomic Diagrams (up to 2 people, one more row/person)
Create an abbreviated periodic table where each element block contains a Bohr model of the element with protons, neutrons, and electrons in proper shells.
For each additional person (up to 4 people) add a new row to the periodic table (but no transition metals).

Chemistry Musical Piece (up to 3 people, or 4 for a video)
Compose an original song or a parody that focuses on a chemistry topic. Everyone must perform, but the focus on the cleverness and integrity of the lyrics is paramount.

Periodic Table Playlist (up to 3 people)
Create a CD with songs that represent each group/family of the periodic table.

Atom Research Project (one person)
Create and present a powerpoint of a research project.

Chemistry Comic Book (up to 4 people)
Create an educational, entertaining comic book based on a chemistry topic.
