North Carolina Teaching Fellows program- Deadline Monday, January 7th
The North Carolina Teaching Fellows program is a competitive, merit-based forgivable loans-for-service program that provides up to $8,250 a year for up to four years to highly-qualified students committed to teaching special education or a STEM subject in a North Carolina public school. 

North Carolina Hispanic College Fund- Deadline: Tuesday, January 15th 
Amount: $500-$2,500

Bessie Noble and Willie Lou Jordan- Deadline: Monday. January 21st at 5 PM (including mailed documents)

Community Foundation of Western North Carolina- Various Deadlines: (Jan 25th being the earliest)

Community Foundation of Henderson County- Deadline: Thursday, January 31st @ 5 pm

North Carolina Extension and Community Association Scholarship- Deadline: Wednesday, Feb. 27th
The purpose of this scholarship is to assist students in obtaining a degree at any NC college, in any field of study, priority given to Family and Consumer Sciences ($800). The application is attached at the bottom of this website. Please return completed applications with supporting documents to Ms. Luibrand. 

Western Carolina University Scholarships- Deadline: Friday, February 1st

Elks Legacy Awards- Deadline: Friday, February 1st @ midnight

SECU People Helping People- Deadline- Monday, February 4th
Please click on the link above and complete the application using the Google Doc. Read the eligibility criteria closely and feel free to ask us questions. There will be two applicants from each high school in Henderson County to interview with a Scholarship Committee, held at HCPS Central Office in March. 

Mcdonalds Hacer Scholarship - Deadline: Monday, February 4th
Amount: $25,000

NC DAR Scholarships- Deadline: Tuesday, February 5th
Please see attachments for scholarship application and deadline.  Please return materials to Ms. Luibrand or Ms. Smith in the counseling office.  

Henderson County Education Foundation- Deadline: Monday, February 11th
Contact your counselor for an electronic copy of your transcript and most recent report card.

Hispanic Scholarship Fund - Deadline: Friday, February 15th
Amount: $500-$5,000

Hendersonville Civitan Club Scholarship - Thursday, February 28th

Please see attachments at the bottom of this page for the Hendersonville Civitan Club Scholarship ($2,000). Attached are the guidelines and application. Submit only one copy to the counseling office. Your completed application, along with the FAFSA, and letters of recommendation must be submitted together to be considered for the scholarship. We also have copies of the application in the counseling office. Please return these materials to Ms. Luibrand or Ms. Elaine Smith.

Hendersonville Sister Cities- Travel Scholarship- Deadline: Friday, March 1st 

Journey Scholarship - Deadline: Friday. March 22nd, 2019
Applicants from Henderson County must live in one of the following communities or participate in the community center: Crab Creek, Edneyville, Upper Hickory Nut Gorge, Upward. Applicants must also have at least a 3.0 unweighted GPA, and plan to attend a four or two year college. Please have all supporting documents and application postmarked by Friday, March 22nd. The application is attached at the bottom of this website. 

The Henderson County DREAM Scholarship- Deadline:Friday, March 29th at 5 PM
This scholarship will support a local Henderson County youth who has/will graduate from (private or public) high school in Henderson County and who faces the mandate of out of state tuition costs at a public North Carolina college/university. The scholarship may also support someone who has demonstrated investment in our community by living or working in Henderson County for at least two years and faces the mandate of out of state tuition costs at a public North Carolina college/university.

Scholarships will be awarded to high quality candidates who will be evaluated on a variety of factors including GPA, test score, extracurricular activities and involvement, letters of recommendation, and documentation of financial need. Scholarships will be used primarily to support students working towards a certificate or degree program through the community college system; scholarship may also be used for another qualified/accredited institution of higher learning.

BRCC Scholarships- Deadline- Sunday, April 15th

NC Child Support Council - Deadline- Friday, April 19th
1. At least one parent must be a member of the North Carolina Child Support Council or a client of the Child Support Program (through either Child Support services or Clerk of Court services).
2. Applicant must be a resident of North Carolina and a graduating high school senior.
3. Applicant must have been accepted by a North Carolina school of higher learning: a College, University, Community College or Technical School.  Applicant needs to attach a copy of the acceptance letter.
4. Applicant must have maintained an overall C average or above during his/her high school career.

FAFSA and RDS Reminder: 
If you need help completing your FAFSA or NC Residency Determination Service (RDS), financial aid officers at Blue Ridge Community College are willing to meet with students and parents weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Contact Lisanne Masterson at 828-694-1806 or to set up an appointment. They will help even if you plan to attend a college other than BRCC.
