Billie-Renee Knight has been a member of the Hayden Catholic Community since 1994 and is beginning her 34th year of teaching. She has taught all levels of Spanish for 34 years and has also taught courses in French, Latin, and Italian as well as numerous courses in the English department, including AP English; British literature; myths, legends & folklore; and creative writing. She is currently the chairperson for the world languages department and is serving a 2 year term as the secretary of the Kansas World Language Association. She has also served as the board secretary for the state writing group Kansas Writers, Inc., and is the newly elected president, assuming that role in August 2025.
Ms. Knight graduated from Montana State University - Billings in 1991 with a BSED in Spanish and English with minors in French, Italian and Portuguese. She earned her MAED in curriculum and instruction (2008) and another in teacher leadership (2010) through the University of Phoenix.
Ms. Knight is a member of Christ the King Parish and is, in cooperation with her younger sister Leslie, the caregiver for her eldest sister Bobbie. She is the proud mama of a very entertaining troupe of four-footed furry children - her mini-panthers Hechicero, Diablera, Lucifero, Espantoso, and Sombra; her tabbies Lucky & Peanut Butter Parfait and her beagle Chewbacca and Great Pyr/New Foundland Patas. She enjoys spending time with her nieces Elayna (8) and Riann (3) and in her rare spare time likes to write, scrapbook and shoot photos of almost anything.
