Athena Sutton

Athena is the chairperson of the Art department, teaches art classes in several disciplines and teaches the Psychology elective. Athena is part of the international club and art club, and recently traveled to Europe with 15 Hayden students. She loved seeing and experiencing the art in Spain, France and Italy. 

Athena is beginning her 12th year at Hayden and could not be happier. Athena is an alumnus of Hayden Catholic High School and St. Matthew Catholic grade school and is a parishioner at St. Matthew parish. She attended Ursuline College near Cleveland, Ohio and graduated with a double major in Art and Psychology. Athena lived in Ohio for nine years where she had her own studio and taught private lessons. She returned to Topeka in 2003 with her husband Jake and their two children, Caleb and Adeline. Athena loves to travel, cook, garden, hangout with family & friends and her young nieces and of course make art. Keep an eye out for her work during 1st Friday Art Walks.
