Earth and Ocean Science Grants for Hawai'i Schools!

Thanks to SOEST for all of their support along the way!

A big thanks to C-MORE and especially to the Education and Outreach team for their help in getting mini-grants going!

As a part of the School of Ocean Earth Sciences and Technology (SOEST) at the University of Hawai'i Manoa, our organization (TGIF) raises money for local schools during weekly meetings. Our profits from this year have allowed us the opportunity to offer mini-grants of up to $500 for smaller projects or  $1000 for larger projects that can provide financial assistance to schools which would otherwise not be able to access items or services that can give students a better appreciation of earth and ocean science. TGIF mini grants will fund hands oninteractive projectsscientific equipment, and educator workshops that better connect Hawaii's students to Earth and Ocean Sciences.

- The deadline for the 2018 application submission is: January 7, 2018.
- Financial assistance is available for up to $1000 per classroom *exceptions granted case by case and when funds allow.
- Grantees will be required to provide documentation of the project, including: copies of the receipts, at least 3 digital photos of the requested services/items in use, any curricula/lesson plans developed as part of the funding project, and a short report on the outcome of the grant. Awards will be mailed directly to schools.
