Kauai CC’s STEM initiatives are funded by Title III-A, Sec. 317 that provides grants and related assistance to Alaska Native-serving institutions and Native Hawaiian-serving institutions to improve and expand the capacity to serve Alaska Natives and Native Hawaiians.

We strive to:
  • improve the success of native Hawaiian students in college
  • increase the quality of STEM instruction
  • enhance the connection of STEM with native Hawaiian traditions and values
  • increase the number of STEM students transferring to four-year degree programs

Engineering, biological conservation, computer science, oceanography, biochemistry, electronics, and genetics.

  • peer mentors and alumni mentors to show you the ropes, answer questions, provide encouragement, and guide you along the way
  • paid internships to explore STEM fields at Kaua'i Community College with our community partners
