Sherilyn Hayashida is an Assistant Specialist at the Public Policy Center in the College of Social Sciences at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. She earned her PhD in Economics from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 2016. Prior to joining the Public Policy Center in 2018, Sherilyn served as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Hawaii Economic Research Organization (UHERO) and as a Research Analyst at the State of Hawaii Division of Consumer Advocacy. Her primary research interests include economic and policy issues related to the electricity and transportation sectors. Her research has covered topics in assessing solar photovoltaic policy and market impacts, the efficacy of policy on electric vehicle adoption, demographic factors in renewable energy and electric vehicle adoption, and pricing mechanisms to integrate higher levels of renewable energy. She has authored articles in Energy Policy, Renewable Energy, Research Policy, Transport Policy, and Transport Reviews.
