Sabine's Page

I'm originally from France, but have been living in the Boston area for over 25 years. I love biking year round, sailing and swimming. One of my big projects this summer is growing a vegetable garden, after years of flower beds and perennials: tomatoes of all kinds, beans, squash, carrots and peas. A good reason to welcome the occasional rainy day!

I teach French in the Department of Global Studies and Languages at MIT. I have also taught at Brandeis University and the French Summer School at Middlebury College.

Remembering what school was like when i was growing up has significantly influenced my philosophy of teaching and learning. I always thought that there must be more to learning.

A key idea that has influenced me is that language and culture play a role in how we perceive the world. I also believe that learning is a collaborative process, and knowledge is actively constructed by learners.

I am looking forward to meeting you all very soon.
