Graduate Research Assistant Alice Kim and Project Manager Erenst Anip introduced the Hawaii Digital Newspaper Project to members of the University of Hawaii at Manoa community. Alice and Erenst explained the digitization process, the historical significance of the newspapers, and how researchers can use them.
The 23 audience members included students from library science and Pacific Island Studies, a history professor specializing in Hawaii history, students in her class, and library professionals, including the librarian of the School of Hawaiian Knowledge.
