Graduate Research Assistant Alice Kim, a master's degree student in English, presented at the Graduate Student Organization conference. To an audience of 15 people, she discussed the Hawaii Digital Newspaper Project, the historical significance of the newspapers, and how researchers can use them.
Alice's presentation's title was "Hawaii Digital Newspaper Project: Digitizing Hawaii Newspapers and Researching How They Shaped Hawaii's History and How Researchers Can Use Them." The fourth annual conference took place on Friday and Saturday, March 2 and 3, 2012, at the Kamakakūokalani (Hawaiian Studies) Building, University of Hawaii at Manoa.
As a part of its outreach efforts, the Hawaii Digital Newspaper Project delivered presentations to students, librarians, and community members. On March 22, 2012 from 12 to 1 p.m., Alice will present a one-hour brown bag presentation at Hamilton Library.
