Our highly-skilled professors use a hands-on approach to teaching, with practical applications relevant to the local job market. We have many internship opportunities that give students valuable experience for future employment. 

Class sizes are relatively small, creating a personalized learning environment and our laboratories (located on campus) feature the latest equipment:

A newly renovated agricultural classroom and laboratory is also available on the Kaua‘i Community College campus farm.  The building features:
    • Classroom designed for collaborative learning which features specialized collaborative learning furniture for dynamic group work
    • Laboratory for conducting course experiments
As a student in this program, you'll also be able to:

We offer two Associate degrees in Plant Biology and Tropical Agriculture. Both associate degree tracks meet high academic standards and consist of all college-level courses. The Associate of Science degree is for students who would like to begin working immediately after earning their AS Degree. 

The Associate of Science in Natural Science degree provides a direct path to continue studies for a Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture. The ASNS in Plant Biology and Tropical Agriculture is the only transfer-track associate degree program available in the state of Hawai‘i.

If you would like to earn a Bachelor's degree, starting at Kaua‘i Community College allows you to stay on Kaua‘i and save money on tuition. You'll be able to transfer to:
    • University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources (CTAHR)
    • University of Hawai‘i at Hilo College of Agriculture, Forestry, and Natural Resource Management (CAFNRM)
    • Other institutions such as Oregon State University
