  • About this Project: Best Practices in Online Language Instruction
This website is part of one of the 2014-2018 NFLRC initiatives for professional development. To meet the needs of a growing contingent of world language educators developing language instruction online, the NFLRC, in partnership with the North Carolina Virtual Public School (NCVPS), started to offer targeted online modules on Online Language Pedagogy (OLP). The topics for each of the modules are selected with input elicited through a survey from world language teachers who are already teaching online. Based on the results of a survey conducted in 2015, online language teachers suggested they would welcome professional development on “Materials Development for Online Language Courses.”

The facilitated versions of these modules are offered as an online professional development institute. The content of this module was collaboratively created by professionals with knowledge about online materials development and are made available to the profession through a Creative Commons Free Cultural License. Questions about this project should be directed to nflrc@hawaii.edu.
