Spring 2016

Elementary Spanish II
This is a 4 credit course.  It is the second of 4 Spanish courses which can be used to fulfill the 4 semester language requirement at any college or university including the UH system.  This is also a Running Start class. This course is available as an onsite class and a distance class.

Text: web access code for Portales chapters 6-10. 
  • Both the onsite and distance classes use the same website. 
  • The access code will not be available in the bookstore. Details on how to order will be in Laulima, including a link to the custom order site.
  • Student who took SPAN 101 at Kauai CC in Fall 2015 and purchased the 24 month access code do not need a new access code.
SPAN 102, MW 1000-1050a and TR 0925-1015a.  This class meets 4 days per week
  • Students who are unable to attend either MW or TR can attend only MW or TR and submit assignments as a distance student for the days they can not attend in person. These students should register in the onsite section. 
  • Students will meet in a computer lab and submit online assignments during class.  They will complete all voice recording activities in class with the instructor, and work on writing exercises. They will finish the online assignments on their own time. 
SPAN 102,WWW  This is the online version of the above class.  
  • All assignments will be submitted online.
  • Assignments will be due 3 days each week, starting with the first week of class.
  • Assignments will be due on Tues, Thurs and Sat.
  • Distance students will have to submit voice recordings. Partner chats will be optional.
  • Students must take the chapter tests at either a university test center or similar, or use ProctorU, an online proctoring service that charges a fee.
  • Students who are unable to 'meet' during office hours can make chat appointments with the instructor as needed for additional help with the assignments.

Intermediate Spanish II, SPAN 202, WWW 
  • This is a 3 credit course.  It is the forth of 4 Spanish courses which can be used to fulfill the 4 semester language requirement at any college or university, including the UH system.
  • This is a online course that has assignments due twice a week, starting with the first week of class.  They will be due on Wed. and Sat. 
  • All assignments are submitted online.
  • Students will submit voice recordings.  Partner chats will be optional. One web camera chat with the instructor may be assigned.
  • Students must take the chapter tests at either a university test center or similar, or use ProctorU, an online proctoring service that charges a fee.
